The Panda Loach originates from Southern China, living in shallow, fast moving streams that are highly oxygenated. They prefer a tank with strong filtration and heavy flow. They mix great with other small peaceful nano fish such as Bumblebee Gobies, Amanda Tetras, Chili Rasboras, and White Cloud Minnows. Be sure to feed enough sinking food for the tank since they are easily out competed for food by other fish. They do great in planted tanks, and enjoy feeding on the biofilm and algae that grows on the glass. These fish are extremely social, so groups of at least 3-6 is highly recommended. When they are young, Panda Loaches have beautiful black and white stripes, and as they age it turns into a golden and black coloration.
