Introduction

Beckett’s Water Trumpet (Cryptocoryne becketti) is a superb low-light plant known for producing tube-shaped flowers when it grows above the water line!

Beckett’s Water Trumpet(Cryptocoryne becketti) is a fairly large plant that occurs throughout much of Asia. It can grow to a substantial size, so it is an excellent plant for the medium to large aquarium. It requires stable conditions, especially when newly established, butis not demanding otherwise.

Beckett’s Water Trumpetis a slow-growing plant that requireslow to moderate lighting. It should be placed in an area of the aquarium where it can be allowed to establish over time. Due to its wide natural range, it can adapt to a relatively wide variety of water parameters as long as it does not have to endure sudden changes. Like most Cryptocoryne species, it should be allowed plenty of time to settle in and should not be moved constantly. Once established, it will reproduce by sending runners that will grow into new plants.

CO2 supplementation is beneficial, but not necessary for this plant. It will also benefit from supplemental fertilizers and nutrient-rich substrate

This listing is for the tissue culture form of Beckett’s Water Trumpet. Tissue cultures are superior to traditional forms of aquarium plants in many ways. They are produced in a completely sterile environment which eliminates the possibility of them carrying pest snails or algae spores. They have a shelf life (before introduction to the aquarium) of several months if properly maintained and they are housed in a nutrient gel until introduced to the aquarium. To introduce a tissue culture plant to the aquarium, simply rinse off as much nutrient gel as possible, then plant as usual. The nutrient gel will not harm your aquarium.
