The Kleiner Prinz Sword is a rare hybrid that matures to incredible red coloration and only grows to 12 inches or less!

Kleiner Prinz Sword (Echinodorus sp.)is arare and beautiful sword plant hybrid. Its bright green and red leaves are large and vibrant, and the plant only grows to a maximum of 12 inches, making it ideal for aquariums that are too small for most other sword plants. It can even thrive in low-tech setups wiith moderate to high lighting and nutrient-rich substrate!

Care for Kleiner Prinz Sword is very simple. This plant will benefit from CO2 supplementation, but it does not require it. While it will thrive in high lighting, it is also very durable and can do very wellunder moderate lighting. It requires nutrient-rich substrate for its extensive root structure. It produces very large leaves, so it must be planted with care to not cast too much shade on other plants as it grows. It is certainly only suitable for background placement in smaller aquariums, but it can also be placed in the middle ground of larger aquariums. Kleiner Prinz Sword reproduces through rhizome division as well as by the production of side shoots, which can be removed and replanted. It is very intolerant of copper, so please keep this in mind if you use tap water in your aquarium.

Kleiner Prinz Sword is a member of the plant group known as Rosettes, which are known for their extremely short stem axis and for the way their leaves grow upward from the base of the plant. This plant can grow up to 12 inches in height with the proper lighting and water quality, but it often grows to only 8-10 inches.
