Description:
The Yellow Tail Acei is a captivating species of Mbuna cichlid native to Lake Malawi in Africa. This fish is known for its striking color combination, featuring a deep bluish or purplish body and vibrant yellow or golden tail and fin tips, which add a bright contrast. It has a streamlined body shape typical of Mbunas, with bold, inquisitive eyes and slightly rounded dorsal and caudal fins.

Size:
They typically grow to about 5-6 inches (12-15 cm) in captivity, though juveniles around 2-2.5 inches are often available for purchase.

Temperament:
Yellow Tail Acei are more peaceful than many other Mbunas but still display typical territorial behavior. They do well in groups, and it is recommended to keep them in larger aquariums with several hiding spots to minimize aggression. They also thrive in a community with other Mbuna cichlids of similar size and temperament.
